Theo’s school offers fourth- and fifth-graders the chance to learn a musical instrument. Theo was very eager to do so, so we agreed to let him join. They had a choice of six instruments–unfortunately, none of which was the piano. (We already have a piano, so that would’ve been awesome!)
Theo chose the trumpet, commenting that “it sounds like a fart.” Seems pretty appropriate for a boy, yes?!
Now cross your fingers that making up missed classwork after school doesn’t become an issue. The kids learning instruments miss about a hour of class time a week and have to make it up. Theo swears he’ll be happy to do so, but we shall see!
