The Best Thing You’ll Watch All Week

A while back, I wrote a blog post about how it feels to be the parent of a child that many would choose not to have. Today, I watched a man with Down syndrome speak about being the person many would choose not to have—along with many other topics. John Franklin Stephens, who has written a couple of opinion pieces and open letters that I think are fabulous and have cited many times, spoke on Capitol Hill today about funding for scientific research into medical conditions related to Down syndrome.

Click here to watch his speech to the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies. I promise you, you won’t regret it.
